Water damage at Unit 4, policy PL-88213

Hello,

I'm writing to report damage at our Leeds warehouse. On the evening of 14 March 2026 a pipe burst in the first-floor kitchen and water came through the ceiling into the main store.

Stock on the lower racking has been affected and we have moved what we could to the mezzanine. A plumber made the pipe safe the same night and we have photos of the damage.

Please let me know what you need from us and whether you will be sending someone out.

4. Cause of loss

4.1 We attended site on 18 March 2026 with the insured's facilities manager. The damage is consistent with an escape of water from a failed compression fitting on the cold feed to the first-floor kitchen sink.

4.2 The failed fitting has been retained by the insured. We found no sign of long-term leakage, wear or poor maintenance, and the plumbing was installed in 2019.

4.3 We are satisfied that the loss falls within the escape of water peril under Section 1 of the policy, subject to the excess.

5. Extent of damage

5.1 Water entered the main store through the ceiling void and affected stock on the two lowest racking levels across bays 3 to 7.
